Yes, friends, I have returned to Iowa.
It looks familiar. Feels familiar. Except this time, it's the Caucus and not the General - and much colder.
I will tell you the adreneline is pumping. Fresh from Election Day in Buffalo, I returned to Albany and then onto Iowa in less than 24 hours. So I'm hoping to ride the wave all the way until January.
As those of you from the last go-round might remember, I will pepper this blog with stories and the view from the ground here, leading up to the Caucus. And pictures a plenty. And of course, interject some amusing happenings to me as, well, I think they're amusing, so you should, too.
For starters, the plane ride was typical. I somehow managed to sit next to the tallest people on the plane, which, for any of you knowing my height, shouldn't be a problem. Until you find yourself in puddlejumpers. For some reason, both of my airline seat friends didn't feel the need to put down the arm rest between our seats, something I'd usually insist upon as I do not like having my personal space infringed upon. Yet, given how uncomfortable they looked, I decided to let it slide. Which was bad on my part since I then had the absolute fun of both of them falling asleep on me. The last seat partner's arm somehow landed on my leg.
Um. Not until you buy me dinner, cowboy.
After that, it's pretty typical. I headed straight for the office and jumped right in and am about to check into the hotel.
This will be fun. And crazy. And I will have lots of fun to update you on.
I will try to post every day - so keep checking back for more insider views and amusing stories. Be well, all.
